Boris FX develops post-production software used in broadcast, film and content production. The catalogue spans four areas: visual effects and tracking, professional audio, video editing and still-image work. Most of the tools install as plug-ins into the editing and compositing software already in place, so no pipeline has to be rebuilt around them.

Boris FX Suite
Boris FX Suite brings eleven of the catalogue's products together under a single subscription: all six visual effects tools, four of the six audio tools and the stills application. Vegas Pro, Sound Forge and Acid Pro sit outside it and are ordered separately.

A workstation moving between compositing, audio clean-up and photo retouching stops collecting licences one product at a time.
No platform to pick at purchase
The Suite spans the supported hosts, whereas most individual licences are sold per platform: Adobe, Avid, OFX or Final Cut.
Subscription, node-locked or floating
Two modes are listed, a seat-based subscription or a shared floating licence. The Suite is not offered as a perpetual licence.

Editions and licence types
What changes from one reference to the next
Several families come in distinct editions: Vegas Pro, Vegas Pro Plus and Vegas Pro Ultimate, Samplitude and Samplitude Suite, Sound Forge and Sound Forge Plus. On top of that sit the licence type, subscription or perpetual, and how it is tied down, either to one seat or floating across several machines.
