The BirdDog camera family covers every capture format: the X-Series indoor PTZs (from the X1 up to the X5 Ultra and the studio-grade XL), the O4 all-weather outdoor PTZ, the fixed MAKI Ultra box cameras for POV shots, the battery-powered MAKI Live portable camera and the MAX meeting-room camera. Depending on the model, connectivity combines NDI®, SDI, HDMI, USB, SRT and Wi-Fi.

Sony Exmor R sensors and broadcast lenses
Back-illuminated Sony sensors: low-light sensitivity, contained noise, wide dynamic range. Broadcast-grade glass, with genuine Sony image blocks on select models.
Simultaneous pan/tilt robotics
Pan and tilt driven together, with no stepping or jerky transitions: natural diagonal movements, clean enough to broadcast.
NDI® and video outputs by model
NDI® HX accompanies HDMI and/or SDI outputs depending on the model. In this selection, XL Ultra and O4 also offer Full NDI® with simultaneous HX3. Confirm formats and simultaneous outputs for your installation.
FreeD on XL Ultra and O4
On XL Ultra and O4, FreeD position data is sent over UDP or embedded in NDI® for virtual sets and AR graphics. This is not a feature shared by every camera shown.
Built-in video scopes and colour matrix
Waveform, RGB parade, vectorscope and histogram right inside BirdUI, plus the full colour matrix: everything needed to match cameras without external tools, with the free Cam Control app for pairing.
HALO Tally and E-Ink display
The daylight-visible 360° tally ring keeps talent and crew on the right camera; the E-Ink display shows the unit's name and network address, even powered off.
Open control
A REST API across the range, a Crestron library, a Q-SYS plugin, Skaarhoj, and proven compatibility with 13+ platforms (vMix, OBS, Wirecast, Ross...). The cameras are also driven by modern third-party AI control platforms such as IRIS.
BirdDog Connect
Cloud remote production: NDI® sources kept frame-accurate across sites, apps on every platform, and two simultaneous connections free to get started.
5-year warranty on the X-Series cameras (registered product), with worldwide support. AI tracking comes free on most models.
